Form I-956

Regional Center Designation

The application a Regional Center files with USCIS to be designated (or amended) as an EB-5 Regional Center.

Typically filed by: Regional Center

Form I-956 is filed by an entity seeking USCIS designation as a Regional Center under the EB-5 Reform and Integration Act, or by an existing Regional Center amending its designation.

Designation confirms USCIS's review of the Regional Center's structure and proposed geography for pooling EB-5 capital and counting indirect and induced job creation.

Regional Center designation is not an endorsement of any specific investment offering sponsored by that Regional Center — each offering is separately filed on Form I-956F.

This is a general explainer, not legal advice, and does not describe the requirements of any specific case. Confirm current form editions, fees, and instructions directly at uscis.gov (or travel.state.gov for DS-260) before filing.
